This cutie is called the "pom pom" ring, but to me it looks like a bunch of green-wrapped presents or maybe a cluster of tart apple candy, yum! Sterling silver and glass, $230 at Uncommon Goods.
This is what happens when you mix gorgeous resin, brushed sterling silver, and... herbs.
Hi! Sorry I've been quiet for a while. I just got back from another Vegas trip, this time for a friend's stagette, or "bachelorette party" as they're called in the states! I got in about five hours earlier than everyone else, so I relished the opportunity to go ring-hunting. I hit the Lalique store that I talk about in my very first news item on this site even tried on one of their famous crystal rings, but the US$200 price was just a tad too steep. Actually, I happened to be wearing an $8 Lalique look-alike (unintentional) that I'd bought just before plastic, of course and the Lalique man thought it was one of theirs! Ha! I also spotted some unattractive glass rings at the Venetian, bought myself a pink Tarina Tarantino even though it was too big, and drooled over hundreds of silver rings, too. Good times, good times (oh yeah, the stagette wasn't bad, either!). Where I'd really love to do some ring-hunting, though, is Tokyo. The last time I was there was '98, and that was before my obsession took full flight. This and this by JeSuis, for instance, are just too cool! And for those ladylike days, these couldn't be more perfect. If only Japan were a mere two-hour flight away...
Butterflies are big right now, according to the mysterious people who tell us what's "big." I know this makes me a horrible person, but butterflies have always creeped me out. Those wings ain't foolin' nobody they're still bugs!! This bold ring, however, is almost enough to sway my opinion.
These cocktail rings are something to behold, but what I find especially irresistible at Laurice Curran are the drop-dead gorgeous earrings! They're almost enough to make me forget about rings altogether. Almost.
