The following rings are remainders of various styles I've had on this site over the years. They are Murano glass (from Italy) and are not flawed unless I've noted something in the description; they're simply leftovers I have for whatever reason. About Murano Glass: these solid glass rings come from Murano, Italy, a group of islands world-famous for their beautiful glass art. In 1291, due to the fire risk from glass furnaces, all Venetian glass- makers were forced to move to the Murano islands; there, they remained isolated for centuries in order to safeguard their special technique from others.    The "Cara" rings remind me of gold-flecked candies! They feature rounded rectangular lozenges of glass on a clear glass band. As each is individually handmade, please note that the gold foil speckles and rectangular shape will vary slightly from ring to ring. The gold will be darker when worn (as less light shines through). Sizes will vary but most of the rectangles are just under one inch (2.5 cm) tall and about 3/4" (2 cm) wide. |
