There are some fabulous glass and resin additions to the store that I'm pretty excited about. Check it out! A new batch of Murano glass rings is also on its way — stay tuned. Oh, also, I bought another glass ring, a colourless floral style; you can see it on my glass ring page.

You may have noticed that this website was offline during the weekend — sorry about that! My hosting provider has been experiencing many problems of late so I've switched over to another company. The changeover should be finished soon. Once you stop seeing the weird URL (containing ""), you'll know it's complete.

Broken links? If you've bookmarked any pages and they're now broken links, it's because pages that used to end in .php (e.g. index.php) now end in .asp (e.g. index.asp). Please update your bookmarks, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Yay! I got a courier delivery from Japan today — something I've been just dying to have on my finger. Check out this beautiful creation by Chitose Ikeda, a designer who makes glass jewellery in her spare time. It might be difficult to navigate if you don't have your browser set to read Japanese, but visit her website to see her amazing work. Tip: in the lefthand navigation, click the first light blue link (with the light blue dot) and then on the next page start clicking the links that appear in the coloured boxes (pink, blue, green, etc.). I special-ordered mine by asking her to blend elements from several rings I liked. How much did it cost? ¥91,000 (about US$76) including shipping — pricier than most of my other rings, but well worth it. More photos on my glass ring page.

Just in time for Easter: an adorable assortment of plastic Easter rings from Russ, only $1 each! (Scroll to middle of page.)

I added another group of plastic bands with rhinestones to the store.

Visit my signed rings gallery and you'll find my latest addition — Anna Sui's ring rouge! When I lamented that Sephora (who sells the ring) didn't ship to Canada, the kind and generous Megan offered to send me one; so, I swapped her for some Kinder eggs, and order has been restored.

I finally added a Renathe Schneider piece to my collection — see it in the signed rings gallery. It features a time-appropriate illustration.

A correction about those Alexis Bittar rings: a representative from his company politely emailed to let me know that it's not gold paint they use, as I incorrectly assumed, but gold leaf (sometimes real gold, sometimes imitation, depending on the price). Each of his pieces is handcarved as opposed to molded. Apparently, a less expensive line is in development, so keep an eye out for that. I know I will!

Found on eBay: a lucite ring from Chanel. Quick, stop me from bidding!

I've stocked the store with some previously-sold-out rings and some new inventory as well. Grab them before they sell out again!

I was just looking at this "Christian Dior" (knock-off, I'm sure) Lucite bangle the other day, and now a matching ring is up for auction on eBay! Bidding starts at $9.99 for the black ring with red rhinestones.

The Murano glass rings have arrived! Check them out in the store. Like my last order from a jeweller, they sent totally different colours from what I requested — what gives? Am I cursed? (But it's ok because they're pretty in every colour!)

I walked into Moulé on W. 4th today, and what did they have but some nice plastic rings! The lady who opened the display case for me asked if I knew who the designer was; I guessed Alexis Bittar (see my entry for March 2nd) — and I was right. She said the pieces were worn on Sex and the City, but I've never seen that show. I tried on the rings (one in a dark turquoise and one in a bright purple, two of my favourite colours) but for some reason they just didn't strike me enough to warrant the $50 price tag (and that was at 50% off!). She told me they'd probably get some other designs in soon, so I'll have to go back (but I'll probably wait until they're 50% off, too). By the way, I was wrong about the inside of the rings being lined with gold. It's actually just gold paint inside the plastic.

Jane D'Arensbourg makes pyrex jewellery — yes, including rings! You can find them on her hide-the-navigation style website for US$65 each. The glass paintings are worth a look, too.

Good news. The Murano glass rings shipped from Italy via UPS today, so they should be arriving soon. And here I thought it would be weeks before they arrived. Yay!

I posted photos of my Lazuli rings here. The clear smoky one is the one that should've been bright turquoise, but oh well. They offered to send me a free ring, but it was in a totally different design (not sure why they didn't offer another band) and in a size too big, so I declined. But at least they offered! By the way, it looks like they fixed the price online so it now says $7 instead of $5.

Anyway, I found a couple more lipgloss rings. Moonslush has bear-shaped gloss rings for a mere US$2.25! But for a ring you can really wear, check out Anna Sui's gorgeous Ring Rouge — shaped like a black rose. It's only US$12 but, of course, Sephora doesn't ship to Canada.

Blow $165 and get five rings in one with this lucite ring from the 1960s. Or, go contemporary with these US$35 lucite rings from Alexis Bittar. The colours are nice, but it looks like the interior of the rings is lined with gold. Too bad.
